I know some poeple would almost cry, if twitter decides to stop their service.
They would miss pausing from having a bath to tweet “Now having a bath”.
Anyways I dont see twitter stopping anytime soon.
Now to the main discuss. There are lots of Apps for twitter, and with Uber and
Twidroyd, which are about the most popular twitter apps, off the grid, one would
be forced to switch to the default app: Twitter for Andriod, Twitter for
andriod, blah blah…
I have seen a couple of tweets lately complaining about twitter for blackberry.
The truth is that twitter as an organisation can decide to make us all ‘go back
to our first love’–> the Web and mobile twitter; that way no one would have to
worry about the lameness of one app or the other.
We often buy brands rather than productivy. I know most of us would rather
flow with the crowd, rather than look at what’s perfect for us buh…really
half of the times, the crowd is right; they are becoming smarter.
Without being platform bias,here is a list of other twitter clients in no
particular Order…but tweetdeck’s got to be numero uno.
1.Tweetdeck: Mobile version available. I have seen this thing on a Galaxy S.
Its just good. Now with tweet pic and tweet longer functionality. A nice
Choice, if you would and of course if your phone supports.
2. Dabr: Not a app. If u are more on the mobile web. This might just be an
alternative to http://m.twitter.com Check it at http://www.dabr.co.uk
3. Social Scope: This app is actually gaining milage since uber and co went
down. Ships with the blackberry. Combines Facebook and Twitter. If u so much
hate twitter for blackberry, a good alternative is SS.
4.Hootsuite: All in one. A dashboard for your Social media engagements. Just
there.Its got Facebook,twitter,linkedin, 4square….
Linkedin-> Professional Social networking site.
Foursquare-> Location based Service, common in the UK.
5. Tweego: The symbian/Nokia folks would wanna love dis. Available on the Nokia
N900.
6. Snaptu: The app that would run on the lowest end phone. A very good choice.
Rich and sophisticated. Its got a dashboard where u can add quite a lot of
other apps. It can get you information overloaded. (3lines..its cos I use it.
)
7. Nimbuzz: Not bad. A good choice too.
8: Blackbird: U can tell its for blackberry. Should be about the first and the
simplest of all twitter clients too.
9.OpenBeak: Formerly twitterberry….what a name.. Not use by many; but it gets
the job done.
10. Tweetcaster: Seems to have rich UI. Its just there too.

Others: Twicca, Twibble,Yoono,Seesmic Skype->Yes the new skype, the bar below
this blog
, and a couple of others are just in the mix of the twitter world;
use by just a few of us. They would gain more if they can leverage on the power
of ‘on-the-go’ (mobile) (For those not yet on the mobile platform).
If you need more info on any of the items..just ‘bing it’…oops!
sorry…Google it!
That’s it for now.
Feel free to add to the list through the comment area.
Cheers, and a great week ahead too.
